Use your state scholarship (ESA, EFA, Fits All and similar) to pay for OpenSky, through ClassWallet direct pay or by submitting a receipt.

OpenSky is an annual homeschool planning subscription, which most education savings account programs treat as educational software. How you pay depends on your program: some pay us directly through ClassWallet, and the rest reimburse you after you submit a receipt. The paywall asks which program you are on and shows the right path.

Whether a planner qualifies is your program's decision. If you are not sure, ask your program administrator before you buy.

## Choosing your program

1. On the subscription screen, under **Payment method**, choose **ESA**.
2. Under **Choose your scholarship**, search for your state or program, select it and click **Next**. If your program is not listed, choose **Card** instead and submit the receipt to your program; you can set the program later under **ESA receipts** in billing settings.
3. Under **How do you want to use your ESA?** pick **Pay via ClassWallet** or **Self-pay & reimburse**.

**Pay via ClassWallet** is offered for programs where OpenSky is an approved direct-pay vendor. For every other program, and for any family that prefers it, **Self-pay & reimburse** works everywhere.

## Pay via ClassWallet (direct pay)

Nothing comes out of pocket. OpenSky gives you an invoice, you submit it in ClassWallet, and your program pays us.

1. Choose **Pay via ClassWallet** and check the email tied to your ClassWallet account. We print it on the invoice so your payment matches your account.
2. Click **Start free trial**. You have full access right away, and we email your invoice PDF with directions.
3. In ClassWallet, choose **Pay Vendor** (Direct Pay), search for **OpenSky Software LLC**, enter the invoice amount, upload the PDF and pick the **Educational software** category. Add the invoice number in the note.
4. Submit. Your program reviews the request and ClassWallet pays us. Nothing else is needed from you.

Your invoice is due 45 days after it is issued, which gives your program time to approve it. The invoice stays on your home page and in **Settings**, then **Billing & Passwords**, with a **Download invoice (PDF)** button and an **I've submitted it** link where you can save your ClassWallet order number.

Please do not pay the invoice online if you are submitting it through ClassWallet, or you would pay twice.

ClassWallet pays one invoice per submission, so ESA billing is annual. Next year's invoice arrives by email about the same way; submit it in ClassWallet again and your plan continues.

**If the invoice goes unpaid** past its due date, access pauses until your program pays it. The notice you see has the PDF and the ClassWallet link. If you already submitted it, your program may still be approving it; reply to any of our emails and we will check.

**Cancelling** before the invoice is paid ends your plan right away and voids the invoice; you owe nothing. Cancelling a paid year works like any other plan: access runs to the end of the year.

## Self-pay & reimburse

You pay by card as usual and submit the receipt to your program.

1. Choose **Self-pay & reimburse** and enter your card. Annual means you only submit once a year, but monthly works too.
2. Start your free trial. Your first receipt appears when the trial converts to a paid plan.
3. In **Settings**, then **Billing & Passwords**, open **ESA receipts** and click the latest receipt. On Stripe's page, use **Download receipt**: it shows the payment date, payment method and amount in one file, which is what reimbursement programs ask for.

Every invoice and receipt carries the program name and your students' names, so a reviewer has what they need. You can set or change your program under **ESA receipts** at any time, including after you subscribed by card.
