Select Courses

Uploading courses for your homeschool can be a tedious part of planning your year. OpenSky offers a growing library of curriculum templates to help you get started quickly.

Overview

OpenSky provides pre-built course templates that you can use as-is or customize to fit your family's needs. These templates include the curriculum structure OpenSky needs to plan your year.

Step 1: Access Your Course Library

  1. Navigate to Courses from the main menu
  2. You'll see the courses you've added organized by subject and grade level

Step 2: Upload a Course to Your Library

  1. Click Add Course
  2. Add Course Information
    • Name the course and provide the requested details
    • Add a description
  3. Specify Lesson Structure
    • If a course doesn't use the classic Unit > Chapter > Lesson structure input the structure it uses
    • This is important to ensure OpenSky displays the course correctly
  4. Upload Material
    • If you have the lesson titles available, either in a photo or image of table of contents, or copy pasteable from a text or PDF upload that to OpenSky
    • You will be guided to import the information which will automatically be added to your course, this can save hours
  5. Review and customize the course
    • Add additional lessons or remove lessons you don't want
    • Link to online resources
    • Upload files or attach documents
    • Add notes for each lesson

Q: Can I use courses from multiple curriculum providers? A: Yes! Mix and match different curricula across subjects to fit your family's needs.

Q: What if my curriculum isn't in the library? A: Create a custom course or request it. We're always adding new templates based on user requests.

Q: Can I edit course templates? A: Yes! Once added to your library, you can fully customize any course template.

  • Enroll Students in their courses
  • Set up pacing and schedules
  • Begin tracking progress
