Generate a transcript from the courses and grades on record.

A transcript is built on the spot from a student's school years: the courses in each, their grades and credits, and the tests and awards on record. Nothing is stored except the comments you type.

## Generating one

1. Open the student's **Gradebook** and click **Generate transcript**.
2. Check the **Scope**: the **Student**, and which **Terms** (school years) to include. From a grade 9 to 12 year, that year and every earlier high-school year are pre-checked, so the transcript is cumulative.
3. Fill in **Student info** and click **Save**: **Legal name** (blank prints the student's usual name), **Date of birth**, **Student ID**, **Graduation date** (actual or anticipated) and **Gender**.
4. Check **School info**. It shows which school details are filled; **Open School Profile** takes you to Settings to edit them.
5. Add **Comments** for each checked term if you like, up to 600 characters. They save automatically and print in the COMMENTS box on every page, labelled by term when more than one term has them.
6. Click **Download Transcript**. The file is named like `Transcript-Caleb-2025-26.pdf`.

On desktop the preview on the right updates as you go.

## What prints

A landscape PDF. The header carries the student block, then the school name, address, phone, email, CEEB code and accreditation status from your School Profile. Beside it, STANDARDIZED TEST SCORES and AWARDS AND HONORS list the Gradebook's test results and awards, or "None recorded."

Each school year is a block of courses with COURSE TITLE, GRADE, CREDIT and DATE. Designations print after the title, as (H), (AP) and so on, with a key. Credit-bearing activities and additional credits are listed with the courses. FINAL GPA follows the last course: an unweighted 4.0 scale (A 4, B 3, C 2, D 1, F 0) weighted by credits. A course without a letter grade, including one graded Pass / Fail or standards-based, counts toward credits but not GPA. The footer has the ISSUE DATE and a blank SCHOOL OFFICIAL SIGNATURE line for you to sign.

## What to fill in first

- **School details** on the [School profile](https://www.openskyplanner.com/support/school-profile): name, address, phone, email, CEEB code and accreditation.
- **Courses in their school year**, under **Manage grades** on the [Gradebook](https://www.openskyplanner.com/support/gradebook). A course in no year prints on no transcript.
- **A grade, credits and designations** for each course. See [Grading styles](https://www.openskyplanner.com/support/grading-styles).
- **Test results and awards**, added on the Gradebook.
