What platforms does OpenSky support?
OpenSky runs in a web browser on any computer, and as an app on iPhone, iPad and Android.
Updated
OpenSky runs on desktop, Apple and Android, and one account works on all of them. Everything you do on one device is there on the next.
Desktop#
Sign in at app.openskyplanner.com in any modern browser. There is nothing to install. This is where most parents plan, build courses and manage billing, and it is the best place for the course editor, the calendar and the gradebook.
iPhone and iPad#
Download OpenSky Homeschool Planner from the App Store:
Android#
Download OpenSky Homeschool Planner from Google Play:
Which to use for what#
- Students do their daily work from Today and Upcoming on whichever device they have. The apps add push notifications and a bottom bar for the checklist pages, and a student can also sign in from the browser on a shared computer. See Student access.
- Parents can review, comment, grade and tick things off from the apps. A few account tasks, such as updating a card or switching to annual billing, open a secure Stripe page and are best done in a browser. See Updating billing.
- No device at all works too: print the checklist for the day, week or month. See Printing the checklist.
Each student's Student Portal tab has Link to iOS App and Link to Android App buttons that copy these store links, so you can send them straight to a student's device.
